   Made To Love:

This song was written by Tobymac and recorded on his “Portable Sounds” CD. I thought it would sound cool with just acoustic guitar, percussion and vocals,… so I recorded it as such. The vocals on this one were very difficult and I ended up using six separate tracks to record them on. It is definitely the most challenging song that I’ve recorded so far. I learned a LOT about effects processing and mixing on this one! I used compression, reverb, EQ, and delay on the “Magix” software to enhance the sound of my voice (I don’t really sound as good live. ;-) )  and the guitars and drums were recorded through my BOSS ME-50 guitar effects processor.

   Secret Kingdom:

My brother Jim wrote this song and recorded it many years ago and I’ve always liked it. We had been talking about re-recording some of his older songs and this one is the one I wanted to do first. We were going to do it as a collaborative project, but recording the same song from 2 different studios in 2 different states with a different set of equipment can be challenging.  (Apparently all tuning devices do not tune to the exact same pitch!)  In the end, I just recorded all the music and added Jim’s vocal parts. It still turned out okay, although Jim tells me that I got a few of the notes wrong…. which I did.

   Something Supernatural:

Chuck Girard did this song back in the 70′s and I have played and performed this song for many years since and never get tired of it.  I just love the raw, gutsy blues style that it has. I think my voice was made to do this type of stuff, and it fits my style of guitar playing too. This is the first song that I ever completely finished recording by myself, and that alone makes it kind of special to me. I recorded and pre-mixed everything through my Boss ME50 guitar effects processor.
